Planning for Economic Development Luncheon

VRPA Technologies, Inc., Carolina Ilic, MCP, AICP and Michiel Gallanosa recently attended a luncheon entitled “Planning for Economic Development” hosted by the Tulare County Resource Management A panel consisting of Alida Verduzco Silva, ACE, APR (Economic Development Manager) Marc Mondell, ICMA-CM, AICP (City Manager), and Aaron Bock (Planning Director) participated in a Q&A led by Jason Garcia-LoBue that provided insight into the role of planners within their community. Alida gave examples of economic development projects and their effects at the city, county, and regional level; Aaron spoke on the changes he sees coming in the next 5-10 years and how they may affect future development, and Marc spoke on the value of planners using economic development as key lens by which planners can bring more positive change within their communities. Overall, the experience was great, and we look forward to attending future events.
