Fix Our Roads Fresno County Initiative
VRPA Technologies, Inc.’s President Georgiena Vivian joined local and regional leaders yesterday to help launch the Fix Our Roads Fresno County Initiative, a citizens’ effort to extend Measure C, Fresno County’s local transportation sales tax.
This proposed 20-year measure would generate an estimated $3.9 billion, with 82% dedicated to local road repairs in cities, communities, and unincorporated areas, and 18% allocated to public transit.
The initiative prioritizes:
• 50% for direct road repairs
• 16% in flexible funding for cities and the County
• 16% for major streets and highways to improve safety and reduce congestion.
This would be administered by the Fresno County Transportation Authority, which has successfully managed Measure C funds for over 40 years. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with community leaders and partners committed to improving transportation infrastructure across Fresno County.
