MCTC 2026 RTP/SCS PEIR Now Available for Public Review
VRPA Technologies, Inc. is proud to work with the Madera County Transportation Commission (MCTC) to prepare the 2026 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR), which is now available for public review and comment. The Draft PEIR is currently undergoing a 45-day public review period from June 19, 2026 through August 2, 2026, providing agencies, stakeholders, and community members an opportunity to review and comment on the environmental analysis supporting Madera County’s long-range transportation vision.
The 2026 RTP/SCS establishes a coordinated strategy for transportation, land use, housing, economic development, environmental stewardship, and mobility through the year 2049. The Draft PEIR evaluates the potential environmental impacts associated with implementation of the plan and supports informed decision-making regarding future transportation investments throughout Madera County. The preferred Sustainable Communities Strategy focuses on expanding housing opportunities, improving access to jobs and transit, enhancing walkability and bikeability, maintaining critical transportation infrastructure, and supporting a sustainable future for Madera County residents.
VRPA Technologies, Inc. appreciates the opportunity to work with MCTC on this important regional planning effort and encourages interested agencies, organizations, and members of the public to participate in the environmental review process.
